With volume IV, I've started drawing the comic with Manga Studio 5 EX instead of my trusted Manga Studio 4. By most accounts, MS5EX is a superior product, but it's taken me a while to warm up to it. Besides some of the general changes to the interface, the actual performance of the program was kind of not what I was expecting. A lot of that stuff has been fixed in updates. While I'm not exactly there yet with it, I am getting used to it.
This page was just me getting used to the tools. There's a nifty foliage brush that I used in the background, and the custom brushes by illustrator Ray Frenden (frenden.com) are pretty sweet. I inked most of this page using his "Lando Calbrusshian" and "Feather Fawcett" brushes. Take a look at his site and if you're a MS user, buy his brushes!
